RaShad the Blues Kid:
"Laurel"

Some people discovered Laurel through television shows and social media… they saw beautiful houses, fresh paint, and new beginnings brought to life in other ways. What you see is real. But I know Laurel has something deeper than what you can fix up. Another side to Laurel you don’t see on TV… I know it as “two dollars worth of gas” stretching across a whole town…as front porch nights with six packs and a bottle passed around.

But I was raised inside those stories, before the cameras, before the spotlight…Laurel was already building people. The Blues taught us how to feel. The Church taught us how to stand. The Streets taught us how to survive.
This song ain’t about what Laurel looks like… It’s about what it feels like when you’ve lived it. It’s that breeze you can’t explain when you come back home. It’s knowing everybody, and everybody knowing you. It’s pride, it’s pain, it’s peace… all in one place. So when you watch Home Town, you’re seeing the outside of Laurel…but when you press play on “Laurel”… you’re finally hearing the inside of it.
This is the soundtrack to the front porches, the backroads, and the stories that don’t make it on camera. “Laurel” bridges the gap between what the world sees on Home Town and what it actually feels like to be raised there. I’m painting the part of Laurel you can’t renovate… the culture. The kind of hometown pride that don’t fade, no matter how far you travel.

Now press play and hear what it sounds like to be raised here. 39440 / 39443Laurel, Mississippi
This ain’t just my story…this is HOME.
